The M40 put the 155 mm “Long Tom” gun on a widened Sherman chassis, and the 991st Field Artillery Battalion fired the first rounds from one in anger during the fight for Cologne in the spring of 1945. Militaria Die Cast’s 1:43 model is a large, heavy piece, 7.75 inches long with the gun, supplied on a display base in a plastic case.
