The Martin PBM-3B Mariner was a versatile and robust maritime patrol bomber developed for the United States Navy during World War II. As an evolution of the earlier PBM-1 and PBM-3 models, the PBM-3B variant was specifically configured for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and convoy escort missions. Entering service in the early 1940s, the Mariner featured a high-mounted wing, twin Wright R-2600 radial engines, and a boat-like fuselage that enabled it to land on water.
